Thoughts in December

Winter has arrived, right on time per usual for central Illinois. Today's sun is a welcome change from the snow clouds, inviting me down to take a look over the beautiful farmland at the end of our neighborhood. If I had been more diligent, you would have been following my pictures of the same rolling hills all year...

Two days ago when the snow was really coming down, I stepped out to take the garbage cans to the curb and landed them on the snow pile instead. We haven't really finished shoveling the driveway: a sure sign of being slightly busy! Thankfully, there's just two of us and the one who gets home first gets the garage that night!

Cold and warming all in the same view.

Our cozy home on Molly Lane.

I'm a huge fan of light and snow...

  At night...

 And during the day.

This little tree is actually in our neighbor's yard, but I love looking out at it. Berries are frankly cheerful at this time of year. And who doesn't need some winter cheer outside the kitchen window?
