Up & East

There is something to be said for waking up to the smell of coffee, the chattering of birds and low him of boat motors, and walking out onto a wide porch to a view like this:

Quite the coffee cup perspective for a Monday morning, thanks to waking up at The Inn at Smith's Cove, in the New Hampshire Lake.

It's no wonder these elements make it into literary descriptions of vacations! Despite pulling out my laptop and checking in on work, I couldn't have been more relaxed. Maybe it's also the memories of camping and hiking in the Northeast with my Dad and sisters... Not to mention the glorious weather and charming location.

This was a lucky find, considering that Bike Week in Laconia had kicked off the same day. However, I might not have looked so hard had I not been forced too- aren't so many lovely little things in life like that?

Stopping in Laconia was not coincidental, however. Unlike my childhood vacations, this one involved interests acquired by marriage. An aviation museum? Not today. Rather we're off to visit the largest arcade in the world...

Not so large as the title might imply, but nonetheless an impressive array- and certainly enough to live up to the name Funspot!

I have little technical skill in this area, but I made some progress, starting with the basics... And some history (surprised?)!

Let it be known, however, that hit the Death Star on the X-Fighter simulator, while Jeff did not.

Moving on, we headed back into the gorgeous sunshine and onto more typical activities!

Perfect spot for a picnic!
